The game, originally titled Super Mario Bros. 4, was directed by Takashi Tezuka and produced by Shigeru Miyamoto. Story
The Super Mario World story begins with the Mushroom King and Queen asking the Mario Brothers to watch over their son, Prince Bowser, while they take a vacation. Bowser Jr. quickly escapes from his room and finds a secret door that leads to a world of magical creatures called Yoshis. Bowser Jr. meets up with the evil Kamek, who turns him into a baby version of himself.
The baby Bowser falls into a deep sleep and Dreambert, an inhabitant of the dream world tells Mario and Luigi about the Star Crystal. If it is not returned to its rightful place in Dreambert’s world, the fabric of reality will be torn and everything will be destroyed.
Mario and Luigi set out to find Baby Bowser and return him to his parents. Along the way, they meet new friends like Toadette and Rosalina who help them on their quest.
